El HMS Union era un submarino de clase U de la Royal Navy construido por Vickers Amstrong el 9 de diciembre de 1939 y comisionado el 22 de febrero de 1941 y tuvo una vida muy corta. Pasó gran parte de su corta carrera operando en el Mediterráneo, junto con la X Flotilla de Submarinos, donde hundió al carguero italiano Pietro Querini. Sin embargo, su éxito duró poco. El HMS Union zarpó de Malta a la 1 de la mañana del 14 de julio de 1941 con órdenes de interceptar un convoy al norte de Trípoli. El 20 de julio de 1941, fue atacado por cargas de profundidad y hundido junto con toda su tripulación durante un ataque al convoy. El responsable de su hundimiento fue el italiano Circe al sur de Pantelleria.

HMS Union was a Royal Navy U-class submarine built by Vickers Armstrong on 9 December 1939 and commissioned on 22 February 1941 and had a very short life. She spent much of her short career operating in the Mediterranean, together with the 10th Submarine Flotilla,  where she sank the Italian cargo ship Pietro Querini. However, its success was short-lived. HMS Union sailed from Malta at 1am on 14 July 1941 with orders to intercept a convoy north of Tripoli. On 20 July 1941, she was attacked by depth charges and sunk along with her entire crew during an attack on the convoy. The person responsible for its sinking was the Italian Circe south of Pantelleria.
