Churchill CIRD

English version
The Churchill CIR (Canadian Indestructible Roller Device) was
a variant designed to clear minefields. Rollers were pushed by the vehicle
in front of it to prevent to take
a mine being detonated
by the roller. The whole contraption had its own suspension. The detonation of the mines could cause
minimal damage not the replacement of rollers being necessary. The whole performed well in combat but was rather uncomfortable in the battlefield so that the preferred vehicle for this work was the Sherman Crab.
