Panzerjäger I

 Panzerjäger I 4,7cm PaK(t) auf PzKpfw I Ausf B

Combat experiences in the French battlefields resulted in desperate need of a car capable of putting out of action to those used by the Allies. Both the PzKpfw III and the IV (although armed with 75 mm L/24 howitzer) were poorly armed for that mission, the mission would fall on other vehicles developed with a single mission: hunt down the enemy tanks.

These tank destroyers (Panzerjäger) first generation had all the same basic pattern a cannon mounted on a frame with fixed and open superstructure above. However, only a compromise was waiting for the construction of vehicles specially designed for this purpose. In July 1941 there were 132 vehicles of this model in the German units, but overall I Panzerjäger 334 were built by Daimler-Benz and Skoda.

The Panzerjäger I was based on the chassis of PzKpfw I Ausf B, to which he had removed the original tower. Instead they had erected a shield protecting shielded on three sides and open at the top. The weapon of choice was the Czech L/43 gun of 47 mm which provided good results in shooting at targets protected. The barrel could rise +12º and get a maximum depression of -8 degrees. The group reached a weight of 8 tons. developing an acceptable road speed of 40 km/h, the vehicle was used in organic antitank units of infantry divisions from 1940 to the Stalingrad campaign in 1942

Cementerios militares: Montecassino (II)

StuG III and Schürzen
The original mounting Schürzen system was introduced in the summer of 1943 and consisted of two rows in "L". A row was mounted on the hull at the other, creating a second lane, just below the top of the superstructure. The brackets are made to pass through small holes in the plates. The movement of vehicles could move the plates causing minor damage to them.

In March 1944 the complaints of the crews had their response and it was easy to lose the tail by shocks so that they introduced a new mounting system Schürzen. The new system was composed of some supports inside the plates and the second triangular tabs were welded to the mounting rails.

Later in the year were bolted to the fender Schürzen and other inclined plates located in the superstructure of the StuG III. In September 1944 introduced a new variant, the Drahtgeflecht Schürzen, which began to replace the original steel plates. It was saved mesh protections weight and vital raw materials. These were used exclusively in the PzKpfw IV. These boards are supported by steel strips at the top by looking similarly to the above solid Schürzen. The turrets maintained, however, the original solid Schürzen. Only in the final stages of the life of the StuG IV were mounted with Schürzen Drahtgeflecht.

Panzerkampfwagen III and IV
The frame of this half tank was used for the creation of the StuG III and brackets for Schürzen are practically identical. This includes initial set-ups that changed in the spring of 1944. The main difference between the plates of the StuG III with those of the Panzer III is that the latter has a turret. The Schürzen of the turret was welded or bolted in place. It is not uncommon to find pictures of Panzer III with the skirts of the tower intact and damaged or missing side. For its part, the PzKpfw IV had the same arrangement as his little brother but with a skirt more.

Panzerkampfwagen V Panther and Jagdpanther.
The Panther Schürzen covers a smaller area than the others and protects the left between the hull and wheels. This shield was designed to protect the crew and vital parts of the vehicle, but did not cover the storage of ammunition. The Schürzen screws directly into the brackets mounted on the hull or hung from a mounting rail. The Jagdpanther, who shared the same frame, using the same system of protection Schürzen the Panther.

Jagdpanzer 38 (t) Hetzer
The system used in this tank destroyers Schürzen is similar to Panther but they were always screwed. The Hetzer was the mounting brackets welded to Schürzen and these supports are slid over the bolts located at the outer edge of the hull.

Nose art del 78º FG (I)

Capt. Charles London 83rd FS del 78º FG 41-6335. Duxford, junio de 1943

This device was used by the first ace of the unit, Charles London, with five victories, one probable and two damaged between May 14 and July 30, 1943. The four marks of victory reflected represent opposite Fw 190 shot down. The fourth and fifth victories were not achieved until July 30, 1943, conditions of engagement are not allowed in many cases record the victories and many records were changed when accessing files in the Luftwaffe.

P-47C-5 “Spokane Chief

En ella tomaron parte; Электростальского la City Center of Patriotic Education, МВПО Generation y ВООП The Fighting Brotherhood.

Grant had a good mechanical reliability and firepower acceptable (despite its high profile and that the main armament was located in the hull). In the European theater was not used after May 1943 while in the Pacific, due to deficiencies in armor Nippon, were employed by the British in China, Burma and Inda. Despite its poor performance across the field, did a great service in the steep hills around Imphal. Between 1942 and 1943 a total of 1,300 M3A3 and M3A5 all diesel-Lee-type were delivered to Russia. Because of their tendency to catch fire after being hit were called "Coffin for Seven Brothers." In mid-1943 patir very few engaged in combat. Some were used in the front of the Arctic in the Soviet offensive towards Kirkenes in October 1944.

The M3 has managed well in the field of battle in 1942 but the rapid race gun/armor obsolete left him in mid-1943.

zechoslovak design soon became the best anti-tank of its time and several countries, including Italy and Romania, acquired for their respective armies. Its performance was superior to the contemporary Austrian Bhole have an armored shield to protect the crew.

With the annexation of the Sudetenland a lot of these pieces were incorporated into the German arsenal soon would throw their hand to build what would be the first generation of Panzerjäger, as the Panzerjäger I 4,7cm PaK (t) auf PzKpfw I Ausf B or 4.7 cm Pak(t) auf Panzerkampfwagen 35 R(f)
