Experten alemanes: Hans-Joachim Marseille

Hauptmann Hans-Joachim Marseille

English version

Reached 158 victories in 382 missions comabte. He dropped 7 units during the Battle of Britain and 151 for his service in North Africa. Among his victims are 101 P-40, 30 Hurricane, 16 Spitfire and 4 twin-engine bombers. He was shot down on 4 occasions during the Battle of Britain and had to be transferred to JG 27 from JG 52 their problems with the chain of command. No clutch the Kommandeur of I./JG 27 Edu Neumann was able to understand this young man who had a reputation of "playboy".

Shortly after arriving in the desert shot down a Hurricane piloted by a Frenchman, and soon got used to the new conditions of struggle, very different from those seen in Europe. Marseille sought new combat tactics in which it could shoot quickly and accurately, insisted on perfecting the deviation shooting at any angle and using different speeds. I had to be at the top using flaps to reduce the angle of rotation of the hunt.

On February 22, 1942 reached 50 wins (43 in 40 weeks), 75 June 5 (25 to 15 weeks) and 101 on day 18 (26 in thirteen days). On June 15, destroyed four enemy fighters in combat three minutes and two days later dropped another 6 in 10 minutes. On September 1, 1942 dropped 17 British units in 3 missions, during the second mission, escorting a Ju 87, the Schwarm and he jumped at 8 P-40 that formed in a circle to defend, however the guns of Marseille disintegrated two of them breaking the defensive formation. Immediately after three more fighters fell to the ground fell the sixth when he shot a short burst with a strong deflection of the shot, while his Schwarm covering his rear. Dispatched in 10 minutes at 8 enemy fighters (10:55, 10:56, 10:58, 10:59, 11:01, 11:02, 11:03, 11:05). In the third mission of the day dropped another 5 fighter P-40 in 7 minutes (18:46, 18:47, 18:48, 18:49, 18:53).

On June 15 and noted in his account and it was 91 kills Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 27, just three days the young Marseille took his tally to 99 confirmed kills in that time period dropped a dozen Hurricane and Tomahawks another near Gambut. His throw got to number 100 down a Hurricane which fell in flames on a site south of Gambut flak, so the youngster was the eleventh Berlin German aviator recorded 100 victories in aerial but the first to get them all against the Allies West.

His victory would be a Spitfire 101 aerial shot that day. About nine o'clock in the morning of September 20 Oberfeldwebel Schlang Marseille and escorted to another Ju 87 Stuka formation, along with 13 other fighters from I Gruppe and 15 more from the III./JG 27. In the course of this mission were attacked by a group of 16 fighters, soon unleashed a very tight battle as Schlang Marseille and entered the game after bringing down enemy formation game. Soon there were 6 of which Marseille Spitfire shot down four of them using 80 rounds of cannon and 240 machine guns. Unfortunately, September 30 on a mission to escort the engine broke down his new Bf 109 G-2/Trop (Wk.nr. 14256) and was killed in the jump and he hit the tail of his plane lost consciousness and crashing to the ground.
