Los StuG III supervivientes (y II)

 

Continuamos con la segunda y última parte de los StuG III que hoy día perviven en los distintos museos repartidos por el mundo. (Ir a la primera parte)

19) U.S. Army Ordnance Museum, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Harford County, Maryland, USA

Este es una producción temprana Ausf G. Está equipado con mantalete cuadrado y MG coaxial. Cuenta con rodillos de retorno de goma y está equipado con descargadores de granada de humo. (Foto 1983)

20) Patton Museum, Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA

 

Producción tardía de Ausf G con mantelete Saukopf. Aún conserva su pintura original y marcajes. Pertenecía al Abteilung Sturmgeschütz de la 116 División Panzer. Fue restaurado a condición de marcha usando piezas de otro StuG que había presente en el museo en esos momentos.

21) Museum of Military History, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

El vehículo estaba en manos privadas en Indianápolis (Fred Ropkey) y había pasado una década en terrenos militares en el oeste de Canadá. Se trata de un vehículo de producción tardía con mantalente cuadrado y rodillos de retorno en acero.


22) War Museum, Ottawa, Canada

Actualmente almacenado.

23) Varsovia, Mazowieckie, Polonia.

Este StuG III fue descubierto en las afueras de Varsovia, en finales de 1980 (fuente: S. Zaloga). Su estado actual no se conoce. Bien podría tartarse de este StuG III (¿?)

24) Kubinka NIIBT Research Collection - Foreign Vehicles, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Rusia

Producción tardía de Ausf G con los rodillos de retorno en acero, escudo para la MG 34, cúpula y Saukopf. Se ha equipado con un proyector de estilo soviético en lugar de la original.

25) Panssarimuseo, Parola, Finlandia.

Ps.531-4 “Lisbeth” (W.Nr. 95443) MIAG. El 25 de junio logró destruir un SU-152 en Portinhoikka y el 11 de julio dio caza a un T-34 destruyéndolo en Vuosalmi. El vehículo logró sobrevivir a la contienda y actualmente se encuentra expuesto en el Museo de Parola como parte de la historia de los Sturmi.

26) Panssarimuseo, Parola, Finlandia.

Ps.531-6 “Liisa” (W.Nr. 95450) MIAG. Consiguió la destrucción de un total de 8 carros de combate enemigos. En los combates del 25 de junio logró la destrucción de tres T-34 en Portinhoikka. En los enfrenamientos del 11 de julio destruyó otro más en Vuosalmi, junto con otros tres SU-152. Otro vehículo sin determinar fue destruido aquel mismo día.

Recibió un impacto en el lado del cargador, en la parte superior, el día 15 de junio, que provocó la muerte del cargador. Se sustituyó la baja y continuó la lucha aquel día a pesar de tener el agujero en su blindaje. Más tarde fue reparado volviendo de nuevo al combate. Actualmente se encuentra en el Museo de Parola dónde luce sus ocho anillos de victorias. 

27) Museo de Reserviupseerikoulu en Hamina., Finlandia.

Ps.531-8 “Aili” (W.Nr. 95447) MIAG. Sirvió como vehículo de mando. En Leitimojärvi destruyó cinco T-34, en las batallas desarrolladas el 25 de junio mientras que otros dos T-34 fueron destruidos por este Sturmi el 11 de julio en Vuosalmi. Tras la guerra fue repintado con los colores de guerra y actualmente se encuentra en el Museo de Reserviupseerikoulu en Hamina.

28) Museum of Slovak National Uprising, Banská Bystrica, República Eslovaca.

29) Military Museum, Sofia, Bulgaria

Se trata de un medio de producción Ausf G con mantalete cuadrado (Fuente: H. Duske). Tiene la armadura de placas estándar de 30 mm atornillado a la morro, y tiene el ventilador y ventilador fijo a la pared posterior de la superestructura.

31) Israeli Army Armour School, Latrun, Israel

Se trata de un ex-sirio StuG III, capturado a Siria durante la Guerra de los Seis Días en 1967. Los sirios habían comprado seis de ellos a España. Tiene todos los rodillos de retorno de acero, y tiene anclajes para las ruedas de respeto fijas en la cubierta del motor.

32) Localización indeterminada, Noruega.

Fue abandonado por los alemanes en 1945 y ha sido restaurado, aunque con una pintura poco adecuada para un vehículo como este.

34) Patton Tank Museum.

35) WTS Koblenz, Alemania.

Uno de los Sturmi comprados de nuevo por Alemania y restaurado como StuG alemán.

36) US Army Ordnance Museum, Aberdeen Proving Ground army base.USA.

Dispone de mantalete cuadrado, descargador de granadas fumígerasm cúpula y rodillos de retorno con caucho.A su lado podemos ver un StuH 42 cuuyo cañón carece de freno de boca.

37) Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War, Moscú, Rusia.

Abierto el 9 de mayo de 1995 dispone de 48.000 metros cuadrados de exposición. Uno de sus muchos habitantes es un StuG III inicial, equipado con el L/24 de 75 mm.

19) U.S. Army Ordnance Museum, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Harford County, Maryland, USA

This is an early production Ausf G. It is equipped with coaxial MG mantalete square. It has rubber idlers and is equipped with smoke grenade dischargers. (Photo 1983)

20) Patton Museum, Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA

Late production Ausf G with mantlet Saukopf. It still has its original paint and markings. Abteilung Sturmgeschütz belonged to the 116 Panzer Division. Was restored to running condition using parts of another StuG that was present in the museum at the time.

21) Museum of Military History, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

The vehicle was in private hands in Indianapolis (Fred Ropkey) and spent a decade on military lands in western Canada. This is a late production vehicle with square mantalente steel idlers.

22) War Museum, Ottawa, Canada

Currently stored.

23) Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland.

The StuG III was discovered on the outskirts of Warsaw in late 1980 (source: S. Zaloga). His current status is unknown. Well this could cakes StuG III (?)

24) Kubinka NIIBT Research Collection - Foreign Vehicles, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia

Late production Ausf G with steel idlers, shield for the MG 34, Saukopf dome. It is equipped with Soviet-style projector instead of the original.

25) Panssarimuseo, Parola, Finland.

Ps.531-4 "Lisbeth" (W.Nr. 95,443) MIAG. On June 25, managed to destroy a Portinhoikka SU-152 and on July 11 gave chase to a T-34 destroying in Vuosalmi. The vehicle managed to survive the war and is now exhibited in the Museum of parole as part of the history of Sturmi.

27) Museum Reserviupseerikoulu in Hamina., Finland.

Ps.531-8 "Aili" (W.Nr. 95,447) MIAG. He served as a command vehicle. In Leitimojärvi destroyed five T-34, developed in the battles on June 25 while two T-34 were destroyed by this Sturmi July 11 Vuosalmi. After the war was repainted in the colors of war and is currently at the Museum of Reserviupseerikoulu in Hamina.

This is a production Ausf G with square mantalete (Source: H. Duske). Plate armor has the standard 30 mm bolted to the nose, and has fixed the fan and fan to the rear wall of the superstructure.

31) Israeli Army Armour School, Latrun, Israel

This is an ex-Syrian StuG III, captured from Syria during the Six Day War in 1967. The Syrians had purchased six of them to Spain. It has all the steel return rollers, and has wheels anchors fixed in respect of the motor housing.

32) Location undetermined, Norway

It was abandoned by the Germans in 1945 and has been restored, albeit with a little paint suitable for a vehicle like this.

37) Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War, Moscow, Russia.

Open on May 9, 1995 has 48,000 square meters of exhibition. One of its many inhabitants is an initial StuG III, equipped with 75 mm L/24.
