Pérdidas del convoy HX 72
El
convoy HX 72 estaba compuesto por 41 barcos y fue descubierto el 20 de
septiembre por el U-47. Pronto se unieron al combate otros 8 U-Boot más siendo
el más exitoso el U-100, quien hundió un total de 7 mercantes. De todos ellos
tan solo abrieron fuego contra el convoy, ya fuese con fuego de cañón o
torpedos, el U-32, U-47, U-48, U-99 y U-100. Otros dos mercantes más resultaron
dañados, el Broompark (5.136 ton.) que fue alcanzado por el U-48 y el Collegian
(7.886 ton.) dañado por el U-32.
A
pesar de la escolta aportada por la Royal Navy los U-Boot hundieron un total de
72.727 toneladas, de ellas 50.340 toneladas corresponden a los barcos hundidos
por el U-100.

The convoy HX 72 was composed of
41 ships and was discovered on
September 20 by U-47. Soon others joined the
fray 8 U-Boot being the most successful over the U-100,
who sank a total of
7 merchant. Of these only opened fire on the convoy, either with or
cannon fire torpedoes, U-32, U-47, U-48, U-99
and U-100. Another
two more were damaged merchant, the Broompark
(5136 ton.) That
was reached by the U-48 and the Collegian
(7,886 ton.) Damaged
by the U-32.
Despite the escort provided by the Royal Navy U-boats sank a total of 72,727 tons, of which 50,340 tonnes are sunken ships by U-100.
