English version
Tank destroyer armed with the second generation a gun PaK 43/3 L71 of 88 mm and 45 tons in weight. With a 80 mm front armor tilt (equivalent to 160 mm) and 60 rounds for main armament is as much the best German Panzerjäger design as that of the whole race. Only her height, 2'72 meters and the limited rotation of the cannon played against him.
The drive train and suspension were exactly the same as the Panther. The high performance engine Maybach HL 230 P30 12-cylinder developing 700 hp at 3,000 rpm, and drove through a transmission Zahnradfabrik seven-speed AK 7-200 the radio steering and drive axles, being able to reach a maximum speed of 55 km/h negligible. As changes in the course of production, the axles were reinforced after numerous failures occur because of this. The vehicle was in good mobility on uneven terrain and its speed was more than adequate for a shielded characteristics.
