Sd.Kfz 8 Zugkraftwagen PP 10 “Lufcik”

El Sd.Kfz 8 Zugkraftwagen PP 10 apodado “Lufcik” de 12 toneladas es uno de los vehículos destinados a ser la nueva generación de semiorugas alemanes a principios de 1945. El modelo encontrado en Polonia pertenecía a la Luftwaffe (matrícula WL 323863) y se tiene constancia de tres ejemplares, todos ellos empleados en el Frente Oriental. El vehículo trató de superar el río Pilica que estaba helado pero se acabó por hundir en el lecho arenoso del mismo.

La ubicación del vehículo se conocía desde la guarra pero los primeros intentos por recuperarlo en 1957 fracasaron. Estos trabajos solo lograron desprender el blindaje frontal del semioruga. En 1998 se vio un nuevo intento por un equipo dirigido por Andrzej Stowarzyszeń y tras un año de preparativos se encontraron algunas piezas alrededor del lugar (un casco de paracaidista M38 y una ametralladora MG 42). El vehículo fue completamente restaurado por el gobierno en condiciones de rodar en el 2003. Se trata de una pieza única que se encuentra en el museo militar al aire libre del río Pilica.

The PP 10 Sd.Kfz 8 Zugkraftwagen nicknamed "Lufcik" of 12 tons is one of the vehicles intended for the new generation of German half-track in early 1945. The pattern found in Poland belonged to the Luftwaffe (enrollment 323 863 WL) and has recorded three copies, all used on the Eastern Front. The vehicle attempted to overcome the river was frozen Pilica but ended up sinking into the sandy bottom of it.

The location of the vehicle is known for the slut but early attempts failed to recover in 1957. These works only managed to dislodge the frontage of the halftrack. In 1998 was another attempt by a team led by Andrzej Stowarzyszeń and after a year of preparation we found some pieces around the place (M38 parachutist helmet and a machine gun MG 42). The vehicle was completely restored by the government in a position to shoot in 2003. This is a unique piece that is in the outdoor military museum of the river Pilica.
