Messerschmitt Bf 109 - La saga de un mito

Messerschmitt Bf 109 - La saga de un mito

Primera parte.

English version

It was built in greater numbers than any other game except the Soviet Yak, Messerschmitt Bf 109 served from the Spanish Civil War to the sixties being the mount of aces of the Luftwaffe.

The history of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 is a reflection of the history of the Luftwaffe. The Polish campaign was little more than a cakewalk, if however in 1940 there would be the first test for the Luftwaffe and the Bf 109, the Battles of France and England. It was a major protagonist in the battlefields of the USSR and North Africa. Finally he was fighting for survival when the tide of war turned against the Third Reich. With an enemy grown in number and best machines ever fought until the end of the war.

In its first flight in September 1935 under the aegis of the Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (Bavarian Aircraft Factory, hence the designation "Bf"), the single-seater fighter Bf 109 Messesrchmitt prestigious engineer Willy Messerschmitt entered service with the Luftwaffe, formed shortly before, in 1937. The Bf 109B, C and D with a Junkers Jumo engine and the Bf 109E with Daimler-Benz DB 601 took part in the Spanish Civil War with the Legion, with the emergence of modern monoplane fighter Soviet I-16, Equipped DB 601A engine with direct fuel injection, the "Emil" had a powerful cannon armament of two 20 mm MG FF in the wings and two MG 17 machine guns on the hood 7'92 mm.

Faced with the Polish fighter, limited in number and quality of its aircraft, the Bf 109 air swept all opposition, opening the way to the units of bombing and close support. The Battle of France was a tougher test: from just over a thousand victories claimed by the French air defense from May 13 to June 23, 1940, the Bf 109 and Bf 110 twin engine would add 335 German planes shot down by the action hunting enemy, all a foretaste of what will soon happen on British territory. After an initial period of continued attacks on airfields in the game and the British control system, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 were forced to abandon the successful free hunting missions and escort the bombers closely. Limited autonomy within a few minutes over the battle zone, the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane of the RAF managed to maintain control over its skies. The Battle of Britain was the first serious setback of the Luftwaffe. The Bf 109F had a DB 601E engine, wings longest marginal edges rounded, retractable tailwheel, cantilever horizontal stabilizer and a wider nose. Exceeded the high altitude Spitfire and entered operational service in the spring of 1941 on the Channel.
