Aviación de caza soviética (IV)

Yakovlev Yak-1, 3, 7 y 9

English version

Produced in response to a 1938 Soviet requirement for a single-seat fighter, the Yak-1 had a low wing structure of wood and metal. Entered service in large scale after the German invasion, underwent improvements that led to the Yak-1M as a workaround.

And redesignated engined Yak-3 showed better qualities than the Fw 190 or Bf 109 G at heights below 5,000 meters. Hunting was a robust, small and manageable. The prototype of the Yak-3 first flew in late 1943. The first to enter service as hicieorn in July 1944, in fact, came rather late to the front, but their participation in combat served to frighten the Luftwaffe pilots. In total the Yak-3 were built nearly 5,000 units

The tandem UTI-26/Yak-7V (a Yak-1 as amended) of training led to the production of Yak-7A / B The next and logradísimo Yak-9 was adapted to carry antitank weapons. Its main versions were Yak-9T, hunting antitank; Yak-9B, bomber and Yak-9D/M
