Rifles anticarro alemanes (I)

English version

The result of the work of German designers was the Panzerbüchse 38, abbreviated PzB 38. This anti-tank rifle used the new Patrone 318, a new projectile with a few changes in its structure reaching a higher initial rate than heretofore used. The PzB 38 was designed and built by Gustloff Werke Co. Waffenfabrik in 1939 following the basic principles of an artillery piece.

In this operation the firing of cannon made it back 9 cm opening the chamber, pushing the sheath and keeping open a sliding block closure. This left open the chamber, cocked the gun making it ready to manually enter a new missile. The handle must manually enter a new projectile then actuate a lever on the right side, and finally close the assembly.

The barrel was very long, 109 cm, and had a handle for easy carrying of the weapon because he weighed 15 kilograms. A total of 1,400 of these rifles manufactured due to its complexity, including hundreds of machined parts that raised costs and manufacturing time. To this is high that the mechanism used to have malfunction in combat conditions not being very popular among the troops. During the invasion of Poland in 1939 were used a hundred of them while in the French campaign could also be seen. Its production ended in 1940
