Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6/R6, Capitano Mario Bellagambi

Se trata de un Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6/R6, código de cola 364-1 (W.Nr. 18391). Este aparato fue desplegado originalmente con el 3º Gruppo el 22 de junio de 1943 pero fue encontrado por los Aliados en Sciacca a finales de julio. Este aparato fue, probablemente, la montura del Capitano Mario Bellagambi (14 victorias), que estaba al mando de la 364a Squadriglia (150º Gruppo). Los informes indican que este aparato fue marcado originalmente con el código TO+QE.

En cuanto al esquema mimético, el aparato recibió un moteado y zonas planas utilizando RLM 74, 75 y 76, con algunas partes pintadas con RLM 02 y 70 mezclados in situ a mano por el personal de tierra.

It is a Bf 109 G-6/R6, 364-1 code tail (W.Nr. 18391). This device was originally deployed with the 3rd Gruppo the June 22, 1943 but was found by the Allies in late July Sciacca. This device was probably the Capitano Mario Bellagambi mount (14 wins), who was in command of the 364th Squadriglia (150° Gruppo). Reports indicate that this device was originally marked with QE+TO code.

On the mimetic scheme, the unit received a mottled flat areas using RLM 74, 75 and 76, with some parts painted with RLM 02 and 70 hand-mixed in situ by the ground crew.
