Tokarev
TT-33

English version
In appearance the Tokarev TT-33 was quite similar to that designed by
Browning FN Mod.1903. Uses short recoil system and a system of hammer and very
similar trigger, with an external hammer, the famous Colt 1911 A1 but can not
be considered as a copy of the latter. Soviet engineers included some
guidelines for ammunition that made this gun had a fairly reliable behavior.
Rails that were also added bolted around the entire circumference of the barrel
to facilitate both its production and maintenance. Another novelty that were
included in the design of the TT-33 was the extension of the above the frame
rails feed lips are usually in the charger, to avoid damages and blockades in
case of entering a deformed charger. The size chosen was 7.62 x 25 Tokarev,
similar to 7.63 x 25 Mauser, used in the gun Mauser C-96. This projectile was
able to withstand repeated abuse and offered other advantages. Total 1,700,000
guns were fabricated TT-33
To replace outdated guns M1895 Nagat an order was promulgated in 1930 and after a series of tests is called an initial order of 1,000 TT-30 to enter service as soon as possible. As I walked into production some design changes in order to simplify its production took place. These included minor changes in the barrel, trigger lock, trigger and frame of the weapon itself. In this sense the removable back of the handle and some changes in the rails bolted cannon was removed. The result was called as TT-33 being widely used by the Soviet Army but failed to fully unseat the Nagat revolver, which continued to be used.
