RSO Flak

Las dificultades de movilidad en el Frente Oriental impulsaron el desarrollo del RSO, un vehículo totalmente sobre orugas de 4 toneladas destinado para el transporte. El sistema escogido era simple pero eficaz, un chasis de camión con motor V-8 de gasolina con una transmisión de 4 velocidades. En 1942 se completó el desarrolló y su producción comenzó al año siguiente.  Los fabricantes incluyeron Steyr, Graf & Stift, Unión Auto y Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz (Magirus).

La versión inicial RSO/01 disponía de una cabina convencional con ventanas laterales y puertas, posteriormente la RSO/03 la cabina se modificó al igual que la planta motriz por un motor diesel de 4 cilindros. El sistema resultó fiable en las condiciones impuestas por el frente ruso y fue utilizado como trineo de arrastre, ambulancia, anticarro autopropulsado, vehículo anfibio y vehículo antiaéreo entre otros cometidos. En su cometido antiaéreo el RSO disponía de un Flak 38 de 20 mm dispuesto en la parte trasera del vehículo. El conjunto carecía de blindaje excepto el propio escudo blindado del cañón. La producción del RSO concluyó en 1945 completándose 27.000 unidades fabricadas.

    Siempre me ha gustado desde que me compraron, hace muchos años, la maqueta de Italeri.
